Old Fashioned Cocoa Fudge

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons white syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margerine
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (English walnuts)

Mix dry ingredients in skillet. Gradually add milk & syrup. Boil to soft ball stage. Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla & nuts. Cool to lukewarm without stirring. Beat till thick and no longer glossy. Pour into buttered pan to set.
