Never Fail Divinity

  • 2 ½ cups white sugar
  • 2 ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • 2 egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tarter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ cups English walnuts

Beat egg whites & cream of tarter in large bowl until stiff & set aside. Boil sugar, salt, syrup & water until it forms a hard bell when dropped in cold water. Add half of this boiling syrup to egg whites slowly, beating with mixer all the time. Place remaining syrup back on burner & boil another two minutes. Add this slowly to egg whites & add vanilla. Beat until it starts to set up, then add nuts & pour into greased pan.
